- A passenger named Nick Richardson captured the strange scenes on camera.
Dramatic footage shows the moment a huge fight breaks out on a Carnival cruise ship, allegedly between a “group of drunk Tampa girls”, as shocked passengers look on.
A group of unruly women are seen throwing chairs across the dining room, hitting each other and dragging each other to the floor while shouting threats.
A passenger caught the violent fight on camera as he entered one of the ship’s food halls and said amid the chaos: “I just want pizza!”
Security guards are forced to intervene as the fight spirals out of control, but their attempts to reason with the women seem futile as the fight continues.
When the women finally calm down and separate after several minutes, dining room furniture can be seen scattered across the floor.
The images show the women hitting each other against the ground and pulling each other’s hair.
The man filming the wild scenes, identified as Nick Richardson, offers commentary, laughs and repeatedly yells “Damn” as the fight spirals further out of control.
“This is what happens at three in the morning when a group of drunk girls come in from Tampa,” said Richardson, 43, who was reportedly on the cruise with his fiancĂ©e and children.
The women are seen slamming each other to the ground and pulling each other’s hair in the bizarre fight.
At one point, the fighting women appear to approach Richardson, and he quickly retreats because he fears getting caught in the assault.
Other passengers also begin filming the incident and appear in disbelief at the ferocity of the fight.
The cruise ship staff also watch, laughing in apparent bewilderment, as a security team arrives and gets to work separating the women.
Richardson, apparently upset at the disruption to his vacation, adds: “Last night had to be ruined for everyone else, too. Welcome to America.”
Chairs flew in the fight, which took place in the dining room of a Carnival cruise ship.
The incident, which took place last month, was captured on video and has received thousands of views since it was posted on TikTok and YouTube.
In a statement, Carnival Cruise Line said: ‘Carnival Paradise’s security team responded to an incident that took place on June 6.
“As is our policy, we will not tolerate such behavior and the guests involved were fined and will not sail on Carnival Cruise Line again.”
The company has a strict code of conduct for its guests and says on its website that anyone who violates it could be fined $500.
The ship, which features multiple restaurants and bars as well as a water park, can accommodate more than 2,000 passengers and travels from Tampa to multiple locations, including the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
