Bassist Jon Kennedy, 44, has died in a car crash – and other members of the black metal band have paid tribute to him.
Frontman Dani Filth paid tribute to Kennedy, who spent a year with the band in 1994 before moving on to other projects.
He said: “He was a great bassist and singer who replaced Cradle at a time so magical, so chaotic and so mischievous.”
“I vividly remember spending a wonderfully wonderful week just outside Wrexham in Wales at Jon’s mother’s house in 1995. We were always pulling pranks and playing games with each other back then.
‘We will miss him! Good luck, old friend.

Kennedy also contributed to black metal band Hecate Enthroned, who also took to social media to pay tribute to him.
A statement from the group on Facebook read: “We are shaken and devastated by the passing of our brother Jon Kennedy.
“This is not only a tremendous loss to his family and friends, but also to the thousands of music fans and genre lovers he touched and inspired. Jon’s passion for music was enormous and at times all-consuming, which is reflected in the way he is revered within the Black Metal scene.
“Working with Jon on music was fun, inspiring and challenging because anyone who had that drive and passion was a force and that continued after Hecate with all of her musical endeavors until the end with the powerful Imperial Genocide.
“But this passion went hand in hand with the love for his family and close friends. A loving father, husband and son.
“Our thoughts and hearts go out to his wonderful family during this incredibly difficult time. As we mourn our brother, please be considerate of his family and respect their space. But please raise your horns for Jon. Our da Jon.
