Sheridan Smith has revealed that she has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
The actress, 42, spoke candidly about her diagnosis during an interview with Fashion and admitted that it has “helped him make sense of a lot of things” in his life.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a condition that includes symptoms such as being restless and having trouble concentrating.
The mother of one finds herself constantly “overanalyzing” little things, as simple as responding to WhatsApp group chats or overthinking what to say.
Sheridan, who also spoke about how she can sometimes feel “useless,” revealed that her ADHD diagnosis helped her conclude why she has a lot of “brain background noise.”

Sheridan shares a son, Billy, three, with her ex-boyfriend Jamie Horn, 33, with whom she split in 2021.
It comes after Sheridan revealed he believes his son Billy will follow in his footsteps and embark on a career in acting.
The Cilla star said that while her little one is already practicing some techniques, she is not keen on the idea of him joining the entertainment industry.
But Billy’s father Jamie believes the boy’s future lies at Arsenal as a footballer.
The actress said: “I’m trying to force him to do anything but act.” I tell him, “Don’t be an actor, son,” but I don’t think he has much of a choice.
‘I mean, since I couldn’t even talk, I used to take the remote and say ‘gagagagagagaga’ and pretend it was a phone and I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, he’s going to be an actor.'”
She said Magic FM: ‘He’s already a small actor. The other day I caught him practicing his sad face in front of the mirror. He is three years old. He was seeing how well it worked.’
“I was like, ‘You cheeky little monkey, you know that works on me too.’ Now I know I think he’s going to be an actor.”

‘He was already on stage with me when I did the opening night of Shirley Valentine, and they surprised me and took him out.
‘He had his pajamas on because he was asleep in my dressing room and I thought he would panic with all the crowd making all this noise, but oh no, he loved it.
‘He bowed. She was making everyone applaud more. I mean, I couldn’t get him off the stage.
‘His father wants him to play for Arsenal. We’ll see. Whatever he wants to do in life, he can do.’
