Sheridan Smith was in high spirits as she left London’s Duke Of York theater on Monday night after another successful performance by Shirley Valentine.
The 41-year-old actress began her 15-week stint in Willy Russell’s one woman play last week and has so far received critical acclaim and standing ovations.
Sheridan looked casual as she stripped off her stage costume and put on a baseball cap, yellow sweater and shiny sweatpants as she left the show.
She still sported a bright red lip and was wrapped in a black wool coat, but kept her look casual with Nike sneakers.
The TV star was greeted by a horde of fans who had patiently waited at the stage door.

Shirley Valentine, which was also made into a 1989 film starring Pauline Collins, is a one-woman show telling the story of a working-class housewife from Liverpool.
The play is the joyful, life-affirming story of the woman who got lost in marriage and motherhood, the woman who ended up talking to the kitchen wall while cooking her husband’s fries and egg.
But Shirley still has a secret dream. And in her bag a plane ticket. One day she might just leave a note that reads, “Go! gone to Greece.’
Shirley Valentine is written by Willy Russell, directed by Matthew Dunster, designed by Paul Wills, with lighting design by Lucy Carter, sound design by Ian Dickinson for Autograph, and produced by David Pugh.
After she took the stage for the first performance, audience members rushed to social media to gulp about the show – calling Sheridan’s acting “perfect.”
One wrote: ‘@sheridansmith1 wow what an achievement, a true icon and so much talent. One woman show, so incredible @shirleyonstage a must see’.
