A 58-year-old man has died after a nine-vehicle collision in a town in the region.
The man was a passenger in a Toyota Hilux pickup truck that crashed into eight other vehicles on Wellford St in Shepparton, 190 kilometres north of Melbourne, at about 5pm on Wednesday.
He was rushed to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Three other people were also taken to hospital for observation.
“The investigation into the collision is ongoing,” Victoria Police said.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed or has footage of the crash to contact Crime Stoppers.
There have been 164 deaths on Victoria’s roads so far this year, compared with 167 deaths this time last year.
