The devastated family of a young mother who died in a horror car crash on the way to a wedding have revealed she was pregnant.

Shellymaine Ah Foon, 32, died when the van she was traveling in collided with a ute at Aarons Pass, near Mudgee, in central western New South Wales, on Friday about 2pm.

Mrs Ah Foon suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Mudgee Hospital where she died a short time later.

She leaves behind her partner Troy and her two daughters, aged six and two.

The family was on their way to a wedding at the time of the accident.

Loved ones have revealed that the mother-of-two had told friends and family just hours before that she was having her third child.

“We spoke to Shelly on Thursday night and she told us she was pregnant,” said one member who did not want to be identified. 7 news.

“He was supposed to have tests when he got back from Mudgee to see how far along he was.”

His partner Troy, 34, was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition after suffering injuries to his legs and arms.

Their daughters were also taken to the hospital, but have since been released.

Troy faces months of recovery and will not be able to work for some time after undergoing surgery on Sunday.

They placed a metal rod in his leg and several plates and screws in his arm.

Ms Ah Foon’s family is shocked by her death and the family member said she was a “social butterfly” who always made time to help others.

“She was very family-oriented, she was always there for anyone who needed anything, she was very selfless with her time,” the person said.

Friends and loved ones took to Facebook to mourn the loss of Ms Ah Foon.

“I’m so sorry to hear this tragic and sad news,” one person said.

‘Our deepest condolences and condolences. Keeping family and relatives in our prayers,” wrote another.

Ms Ah Foon’s family are awaiting her death certificate, which is being prepared by a coroner in Newcastle, before funeral arrangements can be made.

“Shellymaine was a woman of faith with great devotion to her family and was unapologetically herself,” her friend said.

‘She was bold, brave, spoke with conviction and posed no problems. ‘She enjoyed the simple things in life and she lived by her own rules.’

The 54-year-old driver of the ute suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Mudgee Hospital for assessment.

A 68-year-old man who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the ute suffered serious injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital.

Police are investigating the incident and anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
