A contestant on the dating TV series 90 Day Fiancé has revealed her experience while being engaged to the world’s most famous sperm donor.
Kyle Gordy, 32, from Los Angeles, is known for being the biological father of 80 children (and counting) around the world.
And while he is popular with women for his services, he hasn’t had much luck with them when it comes to dating.
That was until he met Annika Phillips, 39, from Germany, after she contacted him to ask about his services, and their love story was featured in a series of 90 Day Fiancé this year.
The couple hit it off at first, but after a few weeks in paradise, they called it quits and now she reveals their brief engagement was a “nightmare.”
He’s a good guy, but he lacks experience in relationships. “He doesn’t seem to notice basic courtesies, like opening doors or pulling out chairs for me,” Annika said.
‘During a photo shoot by the sea, he walked ahead and didn’t seem to notice anyone around him, even on difficult roads. When the caterer arrived, he didn’t thank anyone.
Annika said she felt uncomfortable with the way he treated people, although she admitted she didn’t think he was being intentionally rude.

Annika, from Germany, said the couple’s brief engagement was a nightmare and Kyle wouldn’t give up his ‘hobby’ of donating sperm for her.
The programmer, from Germany, said the main reason she called off her engagement to Kyle was because he wouldn’t consider stopping donating sperm to other women.
“I wanted to continue helping people conceive, whether artificially or naturally, and that made it very difficult for us to move forward,” she said.
“It was a bit hard for me, because I often worried about being judged and we had quite a few arguments about his donation.
“Deep down I knew I couldn’t give it up. “It was a nightmare from start to finish.”
In fact, Annika first started talking to Kyle when she reached out to him on Instagram in early 2023, seeking his services.
But when she first spoke to him on a video call, she says there was a “spark.”
‘We often talked for hours at night before going to bed. It really helped me relax from a stressful day and was something I was looking forward to,” Annika said.
‘After talking for a few months back and forth, I fell even more in love with him. We initially planned to meet in Rome for a fun little vacation and make a baby, but I chickened out and got discouraged.
Annika first started talking to Kyle when she approached him on Instagram in 2023, seeking his services. They had an online relationship for weeks before getting engaged.
Annika first spoke to Kyle on a video call and says there was a “spark”: “We would often talk for hours at night before going to bed.”
‘After that moment, I realized that there were feelings of love for him and I expressed them. From there we started talking on a deeper and more serious level.”
In June 2023, the couple met in person in Malta and filmed their first official date for the show.
However, Kyle had been keeping a secret.
“I thought we were in a committed relationship when I met him in person, but then he told me that he had performed an in-person insemination the week before,” Annika recalled.
“I felt upset and hurt. My feelings were crushed and I couldn’t believe he had essentially lied to me.’
At the end of filming, after about eight months of engagement, they officially broke up after a “big fight.”
Annika said the main reason she called off her engagement to Kyle was because he wouldn’t consider stopping donating sperm to other women.
“It was a little hard for me, because I often worried that I would be judged and we had quite a few arguments about his donation. Deep down I knew that he couldn’t give up,” she said.
However, a few months later, the couple started talking again and are now good friends and focused on being there for each other, even if it’s not romantic.
‘He has helped me through some really difficult situations and has been very supportive. “Kyle always makes sure he’s available when I need to talk, no matter what time of day,” Annika said.
‘Since we became friends, all I want is for him to be happy. I’m also trying to make him a better person for any potential girlfriends, as he seems to have very bad luck due to his difficult lifestyle.’
Annika said she wishes Kyle “all the best” despite the breakdown of their relationship.
She also runs the Be Pregnant Now website and took a hiatus from donating at the end of last year, before returning in January 2024 only for “a select few women.”
Kyle, who currently has 15 children on the way, had previously revealed that his sex life was “non-existent” due to his prolific sperm donation, and that even masturbation had become a “chore.”
While he claims to have given this up to ensure a healthy sperm count, he says he is looking for love again, although the right person would have to accept his controversial hobby.
The couple started talking again and are now good friends. Annika is giving Kyle dating advice as he offers his services for free in a bid to help struggling families conceive.
‘My experience with Annika was definitely one I will remember. Although I think my manners were appropriate (when we met),’ he said.
‘The time I spent with her was exciting, so many of the things I did would be acceptable to most. Finding love is of course difficult due to my circumstances, but I am sure it will happen.
‘Annika is helping me by giving me (dating) advice and we’ve even thought about going shopping together to find more suitable clothes in the future.
“It’s a shame we didn’t work out, but I value our friendship and appreciate the advice he gives me.”
