The film is directed by German-born Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, who previously directed The Big 4 (2022), V/H/S/94 (2021) and May the Devil Take You Too (2020).

Bob, who suffered a heart attack that left him widowed in 2021, spent two years transforming his 5-foot-9 frame in the gym through John Wick-style stunt fighting training with 87Eleven’s Daniel Bernhardt, as well as firearms training at Taran Tactical.

“I was totally against bulking up,” Odenkirk said. The Guardian in 2021.

“I didn’t want to look like a superhero. I’ve had friends who do superhero movies and do that kind of weight training, and it’s all about biceps and all that. I said, ‘I want to do my own fights, but I also want to look like a dad.'”

You didn’t exaggerate the danger or make the interaction more damaging than it needed to be.” But you can’t help but think, “What else could I have done?”
