Cronulla have recalled NRL five-eighth Braydon Trindall after he allegedly failed roadside alcohol and illicit drug tests.
The Sharks said in a statement that Trindall had been charged with failing tests on Monday morning, less than 24 hours after their round seven win over North Queensland.
Cronulla said Trindall, who is expected to be on the pitch next month, immediately informed the club.

“The club has since followed the appropriate protocols within the player contract and (collective bargaining agreement) and continues to work with the NRL integrity unit,” the Sharks said in a statement.
“The club, the player and his management agree that it is in Braydon’s best interest not to participate in games or training in the short term, the most important thing is to address his wellbeing and health issues.”
Cronulla will face Canberra on Sunday, with Trindall’s place in the team likely to be taken by Daniel Atkinson.
