Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri insists he has no plans to leave Liverpool this summer, despite a ‘frustrating’ season with the Reds.
The Swiss international was limited to just 11 games in all competitions in 2019/20 when the Anfield club won their first Premier League title.
The 28-year-old was unable to play regularly after failing to chase Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in Jurgen Klopp’s first pick, while a series of muscle injuries also sidelined him for extended periods of time.

That sparked intense speculation that the former Bayern Munich and Stoke City forwards would look ahead to the 2020/21 season, especially after his brother confirmed in April that clubs were interested in January.
But Shaqiri said he is fully focused on maintaining his fitness and looking for the minutes he earned during the 2018/19 season, his first season with the club.
‘Whenever you are injured or when you don’t play, you are frustrated’ he told the club’s website.
‘But I’m looking forward to this season and try to help the team all the time, so I have the chance to play like the first season.

‘As a team I just want us to achieve a lot. I think we have a lot of good players on our team, everyone can play and we try to make it very difficult for the coach as always.
“I also try to do my best to help the team win games and titles – that’s the most important thing to me.”
Shaqiri and the rest of his Liverpool teammates are currently at a training camp for the season in Austria, holding their first few sessions in the outskirts of Salzburg on Sunday, less than three weeks after the previous season ended.

The Reds will face Arsenal in the Community Shield on August 29, while it will now be less than a month for the Reds to begin defending their Premier League title.
However, Shaqiri believes the squad is good enough to win consecutive titles for the first time since their three consecutive triumphs between 1981 and 1984.
“Everyone is excited to play again and to defend last season’s season,” he added.
‘It is very difficult, but we are trying to achieve a lot again and we want to win a lot of games.

‘We have the capacity, we have the team that is still hungry and wants to win many titles.
“It was incredible to win the title last season, something different after 30 years for the fans and for us too.
‘We are very excited and we always want to win every game, but we know it will be difficult too. The other teams also want to win, so I think it will be an exciting season. ‘
