Actor Ashley Hamilton, the ex-husband of the late actress Shannen Doherty, has been arrested in Beverly Hills, California, in connection with allegations he brandished a knife at a hotel employee.
The 49-year-old Los Angeles native was accused of pulling a knife on a hotel employee on Aug. 24 around 5 a.m., law enforcement sources said. TMZ.
Hamilton, who has appeared in films including 2013’s Iron Man 3 and 1993’s Beethoven’s 2, “adopted a fighting stance” while standing in front of the hotel employee, sources told the outlet.
The employee woke Hamilton up on a couch where he had been sleeping in the lobby of the establishment and asked him to leave, according to authorities.
Hamilton, the son of actor George Hamilton, 85, got into an argument with the worker, authorities told the outlet, and pulled a pocket knife in the direction of the employee, who called 911.

Police arrived at the scene and found the gun in the hotel lobby, and approached Hamilton, who was married to Doherty from 1993 to 1994 and to model Angie Everhart from 1996 to 1997.
Police told the outlet that the employee indicated they wanted to press charges against Hamilton, who was subsequently arrested in connection with a misdemeanor display of weapons charge.
Hamilton was then taken to a nearby medical facility to determine if he was under the influence of any substance.
Police said after Hamilton was released from the hospital, officers gave him a citation and released him from custody.
Hamilton told the outlet that he was “startled” by the worker who woke him up and that he has little recollection of the incident overall. He said he “had no intention of harming the employee,” the outlet reported.
Hamilton told TMZ that while in the hospital, he informed doctors that he had been taking medication following a diagnosis of squamous cell skin cancer.
He said he had been using oxycodone as a result of his condition, having undergone a couple of surgeries and multiple treatment sessions.
Authorities said the case is headed to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where officials will determine whether further charges will be filed.
Hamilton said he was “startled” by the worker who woke him up and that he has little recollection of the incident in general and that he “had no intention of harming the employee.”

Hamilton was married to Doherty from 1993 to 1994, and also to model Angie Everhart from 1996 to 1997.
Hamilton spoke to the outlet earlier this summer in the wake of Doherty’s death on July 13 at age 53 as a result of breast cancer.

‘My love and admiration for her lasted much longer than our short-lived marriage.’
Hamilton told the outlet he had not communicated with Doherty amid his health battle in an effort to give him “space and peace,” a decision he regrets in retrospect.
“Watching her battle that terrible disease with such stoicism was inspiring to many, but even more so to me as a cancer survivor,” Hamilton said. “The world lost a free-spirited soul and my heart goes out to her and all who loved her. May she rest in peace.”
Earlier this year, Doherty told her 90210 co-star Jason Priestley that her marriage to Hamilton affected her time on the Fox series, from which she was fired in 1994.
“I was in a horrible marriage and there were things that were going on in that marriage that made it very difficult for me to get to work on time,” Doherty said in January on her podcast Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty. “I didn’t even want to leave the house because I was scared that[Hamilton]was going to go get drugs.”
