‘Welcome to showbiz’: Shane Jacobson’s blunt response to comedian Jim Jefferies after he complained of being pulled from Australia’s Got Talent jury role

Shane Jacobson has a few words for Jim Jefferies after the comedian complained that he was being replaced as judge on Australia’s Got Talent at 11am.

“Welcome to showbiz,” said Shane, 51, on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday.

Jim, 44, had slammed Channel Seven Triple M last month after the network reportedly decided to replace him on the jury with celebrity chef Manu Feildel.

‘I hear him’ [Manu] is a major problem in Australia. I’d trust him if the man judges food, but he judges entertainment,” he said, adding, “He’s not qualified.”

At the time, Jim claimed to have traveled from the US to Australia after being “hired” by Seven as a judge on the show.

He accused network bosses of ‘d**king’ [him] around” and telling him the “offer is coming up” when he had a busy stand-up schedule.

Jim also disagreed with the long list of demands that Seven supposedly demanded of him, which included a week-long rehearsal before filming.

Shane, who was a judge on the 2019 series with Lucy Durack, Nicole Scherzinger and Manu, contested Jim’s version of events on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

“I wasn’t aware of it before it was mentioned in the paper,” he said of claims that Manu had been called up at the last minute to replace Jim.

‘He [Jim] said there are a lot of rehearsals. We don’t really have many rehearsals,” Shane said. “I don’t know what that was about.”

Later in the interview, radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson asked Shane if he would return for the new season of Australia’s Got Talent.

The Kenny star held his cards close to his chest and said there had been “no announcement”.

“I don’t think I won’t,” he added, seemingly uncertainly.

Australia’s Got Talent will air later this year with audition dates advertised on the show’s website, from June 30.

Last year’s series was abruptly canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
