Without referring to how she was injured, beauty queen Shaila Rebortera showed photos of herself marked with bruises and tagged the father of her child, actor Rob Gomez.
Rebortera, crowned Miss Multinational Philippines 2021 and Miss Millennial Philippines 2018, had previously revealed that she had a daughter named Amelia with Gomez, revealing that she was told to “wait for the perfect moment” to introduce her daughter to the public.
“…I realized that there is no such thing as ‘perfect timing,’” he said in an Instagram post on August 4. “My life, for the most part, has always been private, but honest. For more than a year, I have been looking forward to showing you to the world and showing you the world.”
Days after her revelation, speculation arose that Rebortera has suffered physical abuse after the beauty queen shared photos on social networks revealing bruises on her arms. Gomez’s Instagram handle @robgomez.23 was notably added in the post.
“’It’s just social media’; ‘I’m just protecting my career’; ‘May the program continue to be number one,’” Rebortera said, apparently quoting a certain person.
Rebortera’s post has since been deleted, but Titas of Pageantry, a fan account dedicated to beauty pageants and beauty queens, already re-uploaded screenshots to their Instagram page on Monday, August 7.
Hiyas Ng Pilipinas Visayas director Kenneth Malayka Yamas also shared photos of Rebortera’s bruises and cursed Gomez for allegedly hitting the beauty queen. Although it seemed that Yamas had already deleted this post, he showed through his Instagram Stories a screenshot of his recent video call with Rebortera and her daughter Amelia.
“So happy that they are both safe now. Can’t wait to see you baby Amelia,” Yamas said.

Other beauty queens and netizens expressed their support for Rebortera and stressed that the alleged perpetrator Gomez must be held accountable.

Gomez, who currently stars alongside actress-turned-beauty queen Herlene Budol in the GMA TV series “Magandang Dilag,” has yet to comment publicly on the matter. /ra
