Daichi Kamada will leave Eintracht Frankfurt after the season. The Hessians confirmed this on Wednesday. A change to BVB may be imminent.
Daichi Kamada will not extend his expiring contract with Eintracht Frankfurt and will leave SBU after six years.
“We would have liked to have seen Daichi at Eintracht in the future, but the interests of the player were not associated with that,” said sporting director Markus Krösche in a statement: “We thank him for his commitment to Eintracht and wish him all the best for his future Good.”
This could lie with Borussia Dortmund. The Japanese has recently been repeatedly associated with a move to BVB.
However, transfer expert Florian Plettenberg from “Sky” recently contradicted this: “Dortmund and Kamada is cold. There has been no contact for two or three weeks. He is more likely to go abroad,” said the journalist, who represents the Spanish clubs FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid named as possible buyers.
If you believe a tweet by the reporter Matteo Moretto, who works for the Spanish portal “Revelo”, there is currently no movement with regard to a Kamada move to Spain. Instead, according to him, Liverpool FC and Bayern Munich “have the greatest interest” in the Frankfurter.
Does FC Bayern get involved with Kamada?
However, it remains unclear how intensively the German record champions are actually dealing with Kamada. Because “Sport1” chief reporter Kerry Hau referred the rumors that arose on Wednesday afternoon to the realm of fables. “As far as the offensive is concerned, those responsible only see a need for the center forward position,” Hau also said via Twitter.
Kamada came to Main in 2017 for a transfer fee of 1.6 million euros from Japanese J-League club Sagan Tosu. Its market value is said to be around 40 million euros. The 26-year-old has played 170 competitive games (37 goals) for the Europa League winners.
