A woman has described her horrific experience of sexual attack after she was groped and beaten by a “gang of seven Syrians” in a German park.
The 21-year-old woman said she was sitting on the grass in a park with allotments in Chemnitz in the eastern German state of Saxony when seven youths approached her and hurled insults at around 6.10pm on Saturday.
They reportedly began punching her in the face before inappropriately touching her under her skirt and trying to drag her into a cul-de-sac.

A gardener, 30, said she and her boyfriend, 22, heard the woman shout: ‘Help me leave myself alone.’ Just go.’ They rushed to her aid, but the gang also beat the 22-year-old before fleeing the scene.

The Syrians are known to have approached the woman after visiting the outdoor swimming pool next to the family gardens.
The gardener, who wants to remain anonymous, said the perpetrators threatened them by saying they had a knife and would “come back.”
“We have a bad feeling now,” he said.
Police later arrested five of the seven alleged attackers, aged 15, 16, 17, 19 and 23.
“They are Syrian citizens. The five people were temporarily detained and taken to a police station,” a police spokeswoman said in a statement.
‘The judicial police in Chemnitz have taken over further investigations into suspected sexual assault and serious bodily injury.’

The young people, aged 15 and 16, were the main perpetrators of the attack and were brought before the judge on Sunday. Local authorities have not yet announced whether they were sent to prison.
The other three suspects, aged 17, 19 and 23, were released on Saturday by order of the prosecutor.
“The suspicion of sexual assault and dangerous assault is mainly directed against the two people,” the police spokeswoman told local media.
