At least seven people were shot, including a 15-year-old, on a crowded Florida boardwalk over Memorial Day weekend.
The gunfire began shortly before 8 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block area of the North Boardwalk in Hollywood Beach, near Miami.
Online video streamed showed the moment gunfire broke out at the popular hotspot. The crowd dispersed frantically for cover and away from danger when gunshots began to ring out.
Other videos from the scene showed police treating several victims lying on the sand.
Hollywood Beach Mayor Josh Levy told the South Florida Sun Sentinel paramedics were on scene and some victims were taken to hospital.
“It looked like people could have been caught in the crossfire. But I can’t verify that,” Levy said.
Police have not said whether they have any suspects in custody.
It is a story of rupture. Please check for updates.
