A Belgian cat miraculously escaped death by falling for the second time from a seventh-floor window.

Two-year-old cat Kushi had to be put in casts on both front paws after surviving a fall from a balcony at a Brussels apartment complex in April.

The cat fractured one leg, while the other was sprained, but fortunately he did not require surgery for any of his injuries.

Its owner, Feim Mehmed, 28, who works in marketing in Brussels, said he was shopping when Kushi jumped.

“It had crooked front legs when we found it,” she said.

“He’s very tall and I expected him to be seriously injured, maybe even with a skull fracture, but he seemed totally fine.”

“The vet said Kushi didn’t need surgery after all because his bone was healing on its own.”

Incredibly, Kushi made a full recovery within 21 days and was back to her normal self.

Feim said: “He kept chewing on the cast, so we changed him again after 10 days, but the vet took it off in just three weeks and he was able to walk normally.”

Since the April incident, Kushi has been staying with Feim’s sister on the first floor to avoid any more life-threatening jumps.

It comes after an overweight cat fell 90ft from a Bangkok balcony last year but suffered only minor injuries.

Shi Fu, the cat, had been walking along his unnamed owner’s balcony wall when he slipped and fell from the sixth floor of a building in the Thai city on May 27.

Apiwat Toyothaka, owner of a red MG outside the apartment block, said staff called him to tell him a cat had fallen on his car. He found the rear windshield completely shattered.

Shi Fu’s owner was also crying at the scene and said she had forgotten to close the balcony door of her apartment, allowing the cat to wander away.

The cat was rushed to the vet and was found to have several bruises, two broken claws and a swollen nose from hitting the glass, but no life-threatening injuries.
