Reds’ former youth product Sergi Canos has opened up about his spell training with the first team under Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, and how the Uruguayan’s work ethic immediately caught his eye.
Canos, who plays a key role in Brentford’s promotion, was invited to the first team after joining the Barcelona academy in 2013.

After joining the club in Suarez’s final season, the winger only got a glimpse of life with the Atletico Madrid forward, but what he did see has stayed with him throughout his career.
“He was fantastic,” said Canos Target‘It was the first time I thought okay, this is Luis Suarez scoring goals every weekend, who knows how much makes, and that’s how he trains on Monday ?!
‘I remember the very beginning of training. I was very good friends with Jose Enrique, and all the Spaniards had breakfast together. Luis had something wrong with the nail on his foot. I don’t know what happened, but he limped.

And Jose Enrique said, ‘Well it’s Monday, don’t work out’. Luis was like, “Maybe, maybe, I’ll ask the physio”.
And he went out on Monday and trained limping! They had just played on Saturday! I went home and I was amazed. I was like, ‘This guy loves football!’
He just said, “I can’t stay in, I just want to go out and train with you!” We were like, ‘Yeah, but what’s the point ?!’
Now I understand there is a point. Now, I am like that. Therefore, the default should be above. ‘
Luis Suarez is currently shooting goals for Atletico Madrid, with 16 goals for the Spanish leaders so far this season.
Canos played in every championship for Brentford this season, scoring six goals.
