Sergino Dest ‘only thinks about Barcelona’ as right-back ‘cuts interest from Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich’ after impressive first season at Nou Camp
- After moving from Ajax, Sergino Dest has had a promising first season with Barcelona
- While inconsistent, he has made an impression on Barca’s right-hand midfield
- He has emerged as a reported target for Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich
- But the 20-year-old American hopes to stay in the financially stricken Barça
Sergino Dest appears to have ruled out a possible Barcelona exit this summer, despite reported interest from Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich.
While Barça ended the season in a disappointing fashion after finishing outside the top two in LaLiga for the first time in 13 years, Dest was one of their bright spots in a mediocre campaign that brought consolation to the Copa del Rey success.
Dest, who arrived at the start of the season as Ajax’s £ 19 million arrival, has impressed the right side of the Barcelona starting line-up, appearing as a right back and more recently as a right midfielder in a 3-5-2 installation.

While many major clubs in Europe are following his progress, the Spanish outlet said Sports diary, he has told reporters that he ‘only thinks about Barca’.
The report claims Dest only wants to win titles with Barcelona as part of his ambitions, as it is also where he thinks he will develop best as a player.
Dest has battled this term for consistency, but was hampered by a nagging muscle injury throughout the campaign.
Despite its commitment to the club, Barça may still be tempted to listen to offers for the 20-year-old given their precarious finances that have worsened since the coronavirus pandemic.
