Sergiño Dest could miss up to nine months with a knee injury, according to a new report, as a possible schedule for the American defender has been revealed.
Dest, a Barcelona right-back who has played on loan at PSV this season, confirmed the injury himself on Instagram, while PSV acknowledged he would be out for an “extended period” after injuring himself in training on Saturday.
And according The AthleticThat absence could extend into early 2025, and the outlet reported the nine-month timeline Monday night.
The Athletic also said that PSV wants to make Dest’s loan permanent, as the defender had contributed seven assists in 37 games this season.

Dest’s injury will cause him to miss the Copa América, in which the United States men’s team will compete this summer.
The 23-year-old was part of the U.S. team in last month’s CONCACAF Nations League wins over Jamaica and Mexico.
The United States was included in Group C of the Copa América along with Bolivia, Uruguay and Panama and is a big favorite to advance to the quarterfinals.
The Americans’ first game in the tournament will be June 23 against Bolivia.
