The hit 2019 Australian romantic comedy film Top Ending Wedding will have a sequel released by Prime Video.
The streaming service has greenlit an eight-part series called Top End Bub, which follows the lives of the main characters played by Miranda Tapsell and Gwilym Lee.
Production is set to begin in May and the comedy series will film in both South Australia and the Northern Territory.
The series seeks to provide a hilarious look at the challenges faced by a young couple in a uniquely Australian context.
It will follow main characters Lauren and Ned as they move from Adelaide to the NT to raise their young niece.

The original film was one of the highest-grossing Australian films at the domestic box office in 2019, grossing nearly $4 million in ticket sales.
Lead actress Miranda Tapsell expressed her excitement about the production in a statement.
‘Words cannot describe how excited I am to bring my character Lauren and Top End back to your screens! We all love a happy ending, but what happens after happily ever after? We can’t wait for you to find out!’

Production is scheduled to begin in May and the comedy series will film in both South Australia and the Northern Territory.
speaking to Who MagazineHe said, “It speaks more accurately to the territory than I think Crocodile Dundee did.”
Proud of the film, Miranda described it as “a universal story of how important it is to know your family and your roots.”
Filmed on the Tiwi Islands, the film centers on Miranda’s character, Lauren, and her fiancé, Ned (Bohemian Rhapsody’s Gwilym Lee).
The couple embarks on a journey to find Lauren’s missing mother so they can celebrate the wedding of their dreams.
Tapsell and her husband James Colley welcomed their first child together, a girl named Grace, in December 2021.
The series aims to provide a fun look at the challenges faced by a young couple in a uniquely Australian context.
