Slowdown: Engineering firm Senior said it is cutting jobs amid trading difficulties at its aerospace division
Senior is cutting its global workforce and furloughing staff amid problems at Boeing and Airbus.
The Hertfordshire-based engineer said the job cuts are part of a cost-saving plan in response to trading difficulties in its aerospace division.
Senior said it is making permanent job cuts and temporarily laying off staff, but did not disclose how many workers are affected. It comes in response to strikes at Boeing in the United States, which are now entering their fourth week.
Meanwhile, Airbus is hit by supply chain challenges due to parts shortages. Production sites affected by the cuts are understood to be largely in the US.
