A “selfish” woman has been criticized for listing the ’22’ hat that Taylor Swift gave to her younger sister on eBay for $20,000.

Jeana Linzy attended the Eras Tour concert at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey in May 2023.

During the concert, Jeana’s little sister was chosen from thousands of fans to receive the black bowler hat the pop star wears while performing her 2012 song ’22’.

Although some recipients were chosen at random, which appears to have been the case with Jeana’s sister, Taylor gave the hat to a nine-year-old girl with cancer during her show in Sydney last month.

Last night, X user @tayl0rsf0lkl0re saw hat 22, signed by Taylor, for sale for $20,000 on eBay.

Sharing a screenshot of the listing, they fumed: ‘OMG someone selling hat 22?! Ugh, I hate people!!!’

The ad, which has since been removed, states that the money from the sale “will go towards your collage fund (sic).”

The post then led another fan to contact Jeana, who had shared footage from Taylor Swift’s concert on TikTok, because they were worried it was a scam.

Messages him on Instagram, they wrote: “Hey, this is random and I don’t want to bother you, but I found your Insta through your sister’s TikTok getting the 22nd hat.”

‘I just wanted to let you know that these photos are ALL on Twitter (X) right now because it looks like someone on eBay is selling their 22nd hat.

‘The eBay account seems incomplete so I personally think it’s a scammer who took photos of your TikTok.

“I keep seeing people posting things blaming their parents for selling the hat and I don’t know if that’s the case or not, but I thought you should be aware.”

Jeana replied: ‘Yes, that’s our list. Thank you.’

Stunned by Jeana’s response, the fan responded: ‘Oh… that poor girl.

‘Why don’t you sell one of your designer bags instead of taking something so special for your sister? Greed is REAL.’

Sharing screenshots of the exchange on posted the OG video of Taylor giving him the hat and……….fine.’

One fumed: “OMG I hope the little girl isn’t at least a real Taylor fan because if she is she’ll be devastated when she finds out her family did that.”

Another added: ‘This breaks my heart and makes me so angry. The hat is so special that I feel terrible for this poor girl.’

“Very, very, very, very disappointing,” said a third. “People like that don’t deserve tickets to a show, much less the 22nd hat.”

However, others came to the family’s defense and criticized fans for pressuring them to remove the eBay listing.

“This is an example of fandom going overboard,” one wrote. ‘While most of us wouldn’t do this, why bully someone into changing their personal decision based on their personal feelings? Gross.’

Agreeing with this user X, another responded: ‘Right? As if everyone is so bold to get so involved in the affairs of a complete stranger?

“I love Taylor but I don’t like being called Swiftie for this reason,” said a third.

Earlier this year, Taylor gave hat number 22 to a five-year-old girl who had won a speech competition at one of her shows in Sydney.

In February, TikTok star Oliver Mills, 24, appeared on The Sunday Project and told the hosts that getting the hat was a combination of luck and the fact that she was a big fan of their channel.

“I was in the right place at the right time. I’m not one to kiss and tell, she said she was a fan and thought I was funny, so let’s just roll with that,” he explained.

“Walking up on stage and being so close to someone so kind and beautiful was absolutely incredible.”
