Self-proclaimed white supremacist tried to establish ‘white private community’ in Colorado

Date:

A self-proclaimed white supremacist is arrested after trying to create a ‘whites-only’ community with ‘hardcore weapons training’ at his Colorado property – complete with bomb-proof underground bunkers

  • Chad Keith, 41, planned to create a whites-only community with a school where children would learn an ‘anti-Semitic curriculum’
  • He also wanted to undergo “intensive weapons training” and reportedly described himself as a Nazi who would die for his beliefs, according to court documents.
  • Keith is charged with unlawful possession of 11 weapons, including guns

A gun-obsessed white supremacist wanted to establish a “private” community in Colorado where young children would attend an “anti-Semitic curriculum” taught by military personnel, according to court documents.

Chad Edward Keith, 41, also described himself as a Nazi who would “absolutely” die for his beliefs, it is claimed.

Details of Keith’s deranged plans emerged after he was arrested earlier this month for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

The FBI opened an investigation into Keith after several reports that he was illegally in possession of firearms. FBI agents then recruited an informant who obtained undercover photos of Keith’s weapons and learned of his white supremacist views.

His transport of 11 weapons included rifles, handguns and shotguns.

The property was described as “100% off the grid” and also included a radio tower and a 462ft deep water well.

Keith appeared in court facing the charge and is due to attend another hearing on June 12. A trial is scheduled for July 24.

The indictment says Keith possessed:

  • Glock 21 caliber .45 automatic

Special Agent Holly Andersen said in a criminal complaint that the FBI Colorado began receiving information around October 2020 about “Keith’s possession of attempts to obtain firearms.”

He had lived in Colorado Springs and also owned the 2.6-acre mountain property, where he wanted to start the “private white community” in neighboring Cotopaxi.

Keith frequently spoke to the FBI informant about his plans for the property, including “wanting to leave a legacy and create a white private community.”

The criminal complaint adds: ‘Keith considered buying more neighboring properties in order to own land large enough to build and operate a school, which he would name Ravensridge or Ravensrock.

“Keith said he needed more land as he currently didn’t have enough space to do ‘basic weapons training’. The purpose of the school would be to teach various skills, including including weapons training, and to inculcate an ideology compatible with white supremacy.

“Keith’s target age group is younger than high school. Keith discussed specific plans for the school, including an anti-Semitic curriculum. Keith hopes to recruit military personnel to help teach at the school.

He describes himself as a National Socialist and a Nazi and “frequently makes derogatory comments towards Jews and notes how unhappy he is that Jews control all financial and scientific matters and rule the world,” the complaint adds.

The informant said he shot Keith several times, including on the mountain property.

Footage secretly captured by the informant shows Keith handling and firing weapons, including a long gun.
