Selena Gomez tells her fans to relax: Hailey Bieber receiving death threats is not okay

Date:

Selena Gomez is telling her fervent followers to back off amid the theoretical online spat between her and beauty influencer Hailey Bieber.

Followers have invested in the beauty moguls’ social media exchanges ever since Bieber allegedly shaded (in the eyes of fans) Gomez’s botched eyebrow lamination in February, a debacle known as EyebrowGate.

On Friday, Gomez tried to end the feud for good with a terrifying revelation.

“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” the “Only Murders in the Buildings” and “My Mind and Me” star wrote in their instagram stories.

This is not what I advocate. No one should have to experience hate or bullying,” added the 30-year-old. “I’ve always advocated for kindness and I really want this all to end.”

Bieber, 26, who is married to Gomez’s ex Justin Bieber, has been in the crosshairs of Selenators and a faction of Beliebers backing “Jelena” for years. Superfan anger peaked again last month when the Rare Beauty founder and Rhode Skin creator engaged in what some saw as a tug-of-war, with the likes of Kylie Cosmetics celeb Kylie Jenner , in Bieber’s corner.

Seems like messy makeup stars can only get along in our even messier cosmetic bags?

Bieber and Jenner created a post that fans decided made fun of Gomez’s eyebrows, and all hell broke loose on the internet after that, causing the floodgates to open in EyebrowGate Explainers from legacy media outlets, style and gossip blogs, and everyday TikTok creators.

BuzzFeed ultimately declared “The end of the era of icon Hailey Bieber” among Generation Z, as the influencer’s social media followers went ping-pong during the uproar. Bieber, the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and a fully formed nepo-babyShe lost almost a million followers and was rebranded as a “mean girl”. The audience at her husband’s Rolling Loud concert also sang against her during her performance in early March, signaling another hurdle for the once-untouchable It Girl.

Gómez has approached the drama with some sarcasm but above all with altruism. His comments on Friday echoed his sentiments from earlier this month when he ended a short social media break to tell his followers on TikTok, “Please be kinder and consider the mental health of others. My heart has been heavy and I only want the good for everyone.”

While Bieber has kept quiet about the saga in public, Jenner reportedly denied the feud rumors, writing “this is coming” in a TikTok comment.
