Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift may have been longtime friends, but the pair aren’t spending time together like they used to, and insiders are partly blaming Gomez’s lack of “desire” to be around the singer’s other friends.
Pop superstar Swift, 34, boasts a star-studded girl group that includes Blake Lively, Lana Del Rey, Sophie Turner, Zoe Kravitz, Ice Spice and Brittany Mahomes, but Gomez, 32, is often noticeably absent when the group gathers in public.
Swift has been photographed with famous friends on numerous occasions amid the hectic schedule of her current Eras world tour, but her interactions with Selena have been significantly sparse — the last time the pair was photographed together was in January.
Now sources have claimed that Gomez feels like an “outsider.”
“Selena feels like she’s grown up and has moved on from Taylor’s circle of friends,” a source told DailyMail.com. “She has no desire to date Blake, or Ice Spice, or Brittany, or any of those girls.”

Gomez had hinted she was hurt by missing the group reunions in February, when she left a sad comment on a photo of Swift’s box at the Super Bowl.
The photo was posted by a Taylor fan page on Instagram and showed Swift with her friends Lively, Keleigh Sperry, Lana Del Rey, Ice Spice and others.
In the comments, Gomez posted a sad, crying emoji along with a black heart emoji.
Fans were shocked to see that the Rare Beauty founder didn’t show up to Swift’s party in Rhode Island in August.
The source continued: “In many ways, she feels like an outsider now. She’s not a cheerleader and she never wanted to be one.”
DailyMail.com previously reported that there has long been bad blood between Lively, 37, and Gomez, who are reportedly not friends, do not “mingle” and choose to spend time with their pop star BFF separately.
So much so that it seems the couple has never been photographed together despite both being friends with Swift for many years.
When DailyMail.com tallied dozens of occasions, including all of Taylor’s birthday parties, her Fourth of July parties and her New Year’s Eve celebrations, it became clear that Gomez and Lively had never attended such events together.

‘Selena is busy with Only Murders in the Building and her relationship with Benny. There aren’t enough hours in the day for them to have fun together.’
The source stressed that the pair’s friendship has not suffered as a result of the gap in their meetings, stating: ‘It’s one of those friendships where if they were in the same room, no matter how much time had passed, they would pick up the conversation where they left off.
‘It’s likely they’ll see each other again in the future at awards shows or if they’re in the same city and maybe have dinner together.’
A third source added: “They talk all the time, but it’s been a while since they’ve been in the same city at the same time.”
For fans hoping the pair will find a way to reunite through their work, Gomez admitted she fears Swift will be too busy to delight viewers with a cameo on Only Murders In The Building, which was just renewed for a fifth season.
In an interview with E! News, Gomez reacted to the possibility of her friend joining her, Steve Martin and Martin Short in the murder mystery comedy.
“She’s a little busy, guys,” he noted before the Pink Panther actor joked that Swift calls them “every day” to ask for a role on the show.
When the reporter suggested that Swift could do something as simple as just walking past the group on the street, Gomez replied, “I love that.”
