Travelers have discovered a “hidden gem” route in Australia that boasts some of the best views in the country, and thousands of people have rated it a “must see” location.

Gerringong is a two-hour drive from Sydney and just 10 minutes from the popular Kiama resort.
This small coastal town of 4,000 is perfect for weekend getaways to whale watching, surfing in quiet coves, and wandering through rolling farmland.
“It is such an underrated city, known for its beautiful landscapes and coastal walks,” said Shruti and Dishant.
Some of Gerringong’s top attractions include Werri Beach, Fern Street Art Gallery and Birralee Reserve.
Gerringong also has a secluded waterfall with a picturesque swimming hole below that looks like those in Bali or Fiji.
The Gerringong Falls trail starts in Budderoo, off Jamberoo Mountain Road, and it takes 50 minutes to walk north to reach the falls.

This extraordinary sight has become increasingly popular with hikers. However, despite its beauty, it is said to be difficult to reach and is not for the faint-hearted.
The huge waterfall flows from an upstream river alongside towering cliffs and it is recommended to carry a rope of at least five meters of rope to reach the depths.
Travelers Cat Smith and Joe Bird visited the waterfall before and warned that there are no official signs telling people how to get to the bottom.
“You’ll need to be comfortable negotiating a bumpy track for about 1km,” he said. blog post read.
“While there are short stretches of easy-grade trails, most are rocky and there is a lot of loose leaf litter that can be slippery.”

The hike is a 17km round trip and can be challenging for beginners. It is best to dedicate at least six hours to go see the falls.

“Keep going further south, from Narooma to Eden it’s absolutely beautiful,” one woman recommended.
