AFL WAG Kellie Finlayson’s brother was allegedly cowardly punched before being rushed to hospital on Saturday night in Port Lincoln, South Australia.

Jake Gardner, brother-in-law of Port Adelaide’s Jeremy Finlayson, was allegedly knocked unconscious by two men as he left the Pier Hotel bar over the weekend.

The 26-year-old was rushed to a local hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

He was later discharged and sent to Adelaide for head scans.

Police arrested two 24-year-old men and have been charged over the incident.

The men were charged with assault and appeared at Port Lincoln Magistrates Court on Monday.

At the hearing, the French citizens were granted bail and ordered to surrender their passports.

Gardner’s older sister is WAG Kellie Finlayson, who is currently fighting intestinal and lung stage 4 cancer.

In October, Kellie revealed that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the severe mental damage her ongoing treatment has caused her.

“I didn’t take PTSD seriously before, but now I experience it myself to the point where I get anxious before I get treatment,” Kellie told the Herald of the sun.

‘It makes me much sicker. I’m currently undergoing chemotherapy, but undergoing a series of intense treatments took its toll on me.’

Kellie said she was now committed to raising awareness about living with this brutal disease and unraveling some common misconceptions about it.

‘Bowel cancer is definitely talked about more as a disease of older people. Which is not. “I was young, fitter than ever, running marathons, the pinnacle of health,” he said.

“However, cancer managed to affect me and catch me when I least expected it.”

Kellie recently said Ant Middleton ‘didn’t want his life to be defined by his illness’ on Nova’s head game podcast.

‘If I’m alive, I might as well live. I live on borrowed money. I need to make the most of it,” Kellie said.

Kellie, who is married to Port Adelaide star Jeremy Finlayson, 28, added she was proud to “thrive” with cancer.

The couple revealed in August that they were selling their property so they could secure a more suitable location to provide home care for Kellie.

The social media influencer has been battling bowel and lung cancer after she was diagnosed with cancer in November 2021 following the birth of the couple’s daughter Sophia.

He underwent several surgeries and chemotherapy after his initial stage 3 diagnosis worsened to stage 4.

In July, he confirmed the sad news that he would have to resume chemotherapy to quickly overcome the cancer, which had begun to grow again after he stopped chemotherapy and radiotherapy in favor of natural and alternative treatments.
