A cricket fan was left red-faced after causing a car crash due to being flashed by teenage sensation Sam Konstas.

In shared vision about Sydney Thunder’s Instagram pageKonstas can be seen arriving for training at Cricket NSW headquarters at Sydney Olympic Park.

The 19-year-old was carrying his gear when a 4×4 pulled into a parking spot.

Seconds later, the man, who appeared to have backed into a handicapped access spot, jumped out of his car to greet Konstas, while presumably seeking an autograph and a selfie.

In comical scenes, the man forgot to apply the handbrake and could then be seen running towards his moving vehicle.

His brave effort came too late, when his 4×4 crashed directly into a car parked a few meters away.

Daily Mail Australia understands the owner of the 4WD was in western Sydney while his son took part in a school holiday clinic run by Cricket NSW.

“The Konstas effect,” the Thunder’s caption read.

‘We obtained approval from all parties involved to share this footage. No one was hurt.’

Young Konstas made his Test debut on Boxing Day against India at the MCG, where he plundered 60 against a shock attack by champion pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

A series of audacious shots at the crease impressed the tourists, particularly superstar Virat Kohli.

Rising star Konstas later said that the incident took him by surprise.

“I think the emotions affected us both. “I didn’t fully realize it, I was putting the gloves on and then (there was) a little load on my shoulder,” he told the Seven Network.

“It happens, it’s cricket.”

Konstas was recently named in the Australian Test squad to tour Sri Lanka later this month and will be hoping to feature at the top of the order in the two-game series.
