Sebastian Stan recalled how he first fell in love during his time on Gossip Girl.
The 42-year-old actor reflected on his first “serious” romance in a new interview with Varietyadmitting that it took place during his time on the hit CW series.
“It was the first time I fell seriously in love with someone. Walking around the city, seeing the same buildings and streets… life seemed simpler.”
Although he didn’t mention names, the actor dated his Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester, 38, from 2008 to 2010.
The actor, who also spoke about playing Donald Trump in his next film, played Carter Baizen on Gossip Girl and appeared in 11 episodes between 2007 and 2010.

Meanwhile, Leighton played Blair Waldorf, a privileged socialite known for her elegant outfits and sharp wit.
Although she rarely talks about her relationships, she previously praised Meester while they were dating.
“She’s the most interesting, sophisticated, talented and extremely funny person I know. She’s really funny,” he said of her in 2009.
The couple separated in 2010.
At the time, Leighton told Seventeen magazine: “I just had one experience that was really difficult and I was really sad when it ended, but that’s what taught me a lot about myself and love and life, and that’s a good thing.”
Meester married her current husband, Adam Brody, 44, in 2014.
The two share a 7-year-old daughter, Arlo Day, and a son who was born in 2020.
Meanwhile, Stan has been linked to Malignant actress Annabelle Wallis, 40, since 2022.

In May, the two stole the show at the premiere of The Apprentice at the Cannes Film Festival.
He was also previously linked to Jennifer Morrison, Margarita Levieva, Dianna Agron and Alejandra Onieva.

Elsewhere in the interview, he reflected on playing Trump in his upcoming film, The Apprentice.
He shared that he did a lot of research and gained a significant amount of weight.
“I had 130 videos of his physique on my phone,” he said. “And 562 videos I had taken with footage from different eras, from the 1970s to today, so I could extract his speech patterns and try to improvise like him.”
He said director Ali Abbasi encouraged improvisation, which meant even more research.
She played Carter Baizen on Gossip Girl and appeared in 11 episodes between 2007 and 2010. Meanwhile, Leighton played Blair Waldorf; she is seen with Blake Lively in one frame.
Stan has been linked to Malignant actress Annabelle Wallis, 40, since 2022; they are seen together at the Cannes Film Festival in May
Meanwhile, Meester married her current husband Adam Brody, 44, in 2014; the couple was spotted together in February.
‘Ali could come on the second take and say, ‘Why don’t you talk a little bit about taxes and how you don’t want to pay them? ‘ So I had to know what charities they were going to in 1983. Every night, I would come home and try to not only prepare for the day ahead, but for where Ali was going to go.’
Stan also revealed that he gained 15 pounds for the role.
“You’d be surprised. You can gain a lot of weight in two months.”
The Apprentice is scheduled to hit theaters on October 11.
