Seahawks vs. Bears: Thursday Night Football fantasy football breakdown

You can watch Thursday night football: Seahawks vs. Bears at 8:20 pm ET/5:20 pm PT on Amazon Prime Video.

This “Thursday Night Football” matchup is the last of the season and even more important than usual since it’s the championship round. Yeah, we just had football on Wednesday, and if you play for the ship, you probably have a couple Ravens or maybe a Texan or two on your roster.

Well, what about some Bears and Seahawks? Hmmm, maybe, maybe not. It’s like, you’re benching DJ Moore and DK Metcalf in the biggest fantasy game of the year, after you probably spent high picks on them? Hopefully, you have other better options if you have to make that call. Or maybe you were lucky enough to draft Jaxon Smith-Njigba (or clear him off waivers after a frustrated manager fired him), who looks like everything we ever wanted him to be…and a fantasy playoff hero .

Yes, there are key Fantasy-relevant players on both sides tonight. Let’s go to the story of the tape.

Kenneth Walker III returned to the starting job in Week 16 only to end up dealing with an ankle injury (in addition to his existing calf injury). Therefore, he is ruled out for tonight’s game.

If you are a Charbonnet manager, congratulations; You may have been one step closer to winning your fantasy championship.

We can keep this short. Turn on Charbonnet tonight, as he’ll face a Bears defense that has been murdered by running backs all season, but has looked particularly bad across the board lately. Charbonnet appears destined to be a workhorse for the Seahawks, a role he has excelled in at times this season in place of Walker.

It seems like no one has told Keenan Allen that he’s 32 years old, that it’s 2024, that he was supposed to play third fiddle for their rookie quarterback. Instead, Allen has turned back the clock to deliver some throwback performances lately.

He has scored five goals in his last five games, including three 13+ goal games during that stretch. That’s not just good: It’s the use of fantasy football’s elite wide receivers. Of course, we have to address the elephant in the room: those big games? They all faced the same two opponents: the Lions and the Vikings, two teams known for scoring a lot and bleeding production from opposing wide receivers.

However, the Bears have been chasing the score more often than not this season, and with the way their defense has performed, don’t be surprised if Caleb Williams finds himself throwing a ton once again, and throwing a ton to Keenan Allen. The Seahawks might still have some motivation to miraculously make the playoffs, fostering the idea that the game script will benefit the Bears’ passing game, however flawed it may be (hey, just give us the volume, right?). It also helps that the Seahawks’ biggest defensive weakness is the cornerback position. Everything is ready for Allen in the fantasy championship.
