Screaming Jets bassist Paul Woosen dies suddenly aged 56 as ‘broken’ bandmates pay tribute to late rocker
Bassist and founding member of the Screaming Jets, Paul Woosen, has died at the age of 56.
His bandmates shared the news Friday evening on their social media and said they were “broken” by the guitarist’s death.
“It is with broken hearts that we announce that our beloved rock brother, Paul Woseen, passed away today,” they wrote in a statement.
“We are broken by the loss of Paully, he was a bright light in all of our lives,” they continued.
“Our hearts go out to Paully’s family and we ask that you respect our need for privacy at this time.”

The Newcastle-based band formed in 1989 and became one of the biggest Australian rock bands of the 1990s.
They are best known for their hit Better, which reached the top five of the ARIA charts in 1991.
The band have been nominated for four ARIA Awards throughout their career and have had three albums place in the top five.
Woosen, along with frontman Dave Gleeson, were the only two remaining original members of the band.
The Screaming Jets are still touring and releasing music and are scheduled to release their ninth studio album, Professional Misconduct, on October 6.
They also have a string of tour dates starting in October through February.
