Country singer Scotty McCreery interrupted his show to eject a man who allegedly punched a woman in the audience.
During his performance at the Colorado State Fair on Saturday, the 30-year-old singer abruptly stopped his set to call out to the man he could see from the stage.
Videos posted online capture the moment McCreery drew attention to the “unacceptable” incident during a performance of her song It Matters To Her.
McCreery was able to observe the alleged altercation from the stage and was clearly upset by it.
The singer and father of one had barely begun his performance when he stopped the music and shouted: “Hey, hey, hey! Here, here, that’s a lady you just hit, sir.”

“On God’s green earth. At a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing?” he continued.
“You must inform the police officer who hit the woman. This is absolutely unacceptable,” he added.
“Whoever you are, hitting a woman is the definition of a coward. Get out of here,” he said to applause.
“The world said: let’s get back to the show,” he concluded once the interruption had subsided.
Colorado State Fair officials confirmed that an incident occurred during McCreery’s performance.
Fair officials did not share the man’s name or reveal whether he was arrested.
“We can confirm that an incident occurred at the Scotty McCreery concert where a man assaulted a woman and the performer stopped the show,” said Olga Robak, communications director for the Colorado Department of Agriculture. USA Today.
The singer was only seconds into his performance when he stopped the music and yelled, “Hey, hey, hey! Right here, right here, that’s a lady you just hit, sir.”

Robak explained that crowd control efforts were carried out in part by Colorado State Fair security.
“This incident is still under investigation and we are unable to comment further,” Robak added.
McCreery rose to fame after winning season 10 of American Idol in 2011.
The country singer has been married to his wife Gabi since 2018 and in 2022 they welcomed their first child together, a boy named Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery.
