Scottish Premiership: Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, St Johnstone and Kilmarnock feature in Team of the Week

There was a lot of goals and a lot of drama in the Scottish Premiership with wins for Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Livingston and Ross County.

Celtic have three players in this week’s best eleven after two late goals saw them beat Dundee United to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to seven points.

Aberdeen also has three representatives after their impressive 4-1 win at home to Hibswhile Hearts take two places after their last win against Motherwell.

St Johnstone shocked Rangers with a 2-1 win and let two players make the cut while Kilmarnock takes last place despite narrowly losing to Livingston.

5. James Brown (St Johnstone) – 8.24 rating

James Brown certainly picked the perfect game to score his first goal of his career as he took home the opener in St Johnstone’s impressive 2-1 win over Rangers. The 24-year-old’s hard work on the ball also shone through as he completed seven distances and four tackles. He is the right back with a score of 8.24.

4. Matt O’Riley (Celtic) – 8.28 rating

Celtic finished the week seven points clear of the top of the Scottish Premiership table after their 4-2 win over Dundee United, a game in which Matt O’Riley registered his sixth league assist of the campaign. O’Riley made a total of three key passes and was neatly in possession when he reduced a 91.5% pass rate. Three tackles, two clearances and one interception contributed to his flank shot with a score of 8.28.

Remaining with Celtic’s win over Dundee United, Sead Haksabanovic won the man of the match award in the home triumph. Aberdeen didn’t hurt their European ambitions when they beat Hibs 4-1 on Friday night. Bojan Miovski was the star of the show as he grabbed a brace to score 10 league goals for the campaign. The 23-year-old also defended well up front, as he made three tackles to get a score of 8.57.

With a score of 9.03, Andrew Halliday is the Scottish Premiership Player of the Week. Hearts played a thrilling 3-2 win over Motherwell on Sunday afternoon, with Halliday key. Two of the three league goals he scored came in Sunday’s win, while three tackles and one elimination helped the 31-year-old achieve his highest-rated performance of the season.
