After a strong season on the golf course and a turbulent period off it, Scottie Scheffler decided to take some time off with his family, but he hasn’t been able to escape golf.
Scheffler, his wife Meredith and their newborn son Bennett enjoyed the mountain air in Telluride, Colorado, over the weekend.
The reigning Masters champion still found some time to walk around the course, take a photo with some friends and on a practice range with a panoramic view.
2024 has been a difficult year for Scheffler, with many ups and downs.
His arrest at the PGA Championship made international headlines and his poor showing at the US Open led him to question his routine for a major.

Scheffler and his family enjoyed themselves in Colorado ahead of a busy summer ahead.
But other than that, he has been dominant this season, winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Players Championship, the RBC Heritage, the Memorial Tournament and the Travelers Championship.
They are all big-money events, but the relentlessness of the schedule has led Scheffler to consider taking a break, as the world No. 1 has not played since winning in Connecticut just two weeks ago.
“Obviously I’m not going to miss Jack’s tournament (the Memorial). It’s a tournament I love to play in. It’s a tournament I’m honored to be the champion of,” Scheffler said. he said after the final round of the US Open.
‘But in terms of preparation for this week, it may not have been the best, but I knew what my schedule was going to be from the beginning of the year. I had it set. That’s how it was always going to be.
“I feel like from now on I’ll maybe do things a little bit differently in the weeks leading up to major tournaments, especially when I know it’s going to be a challenging scenario at a US Open.”
Scheffler struggled at Pinehurst for this year’s Open. He made the cut at No. 1 and managed just four birdies all week, all without breaking par.
“When we come back here in a few years, I’ll probably try to work a lot harder on improving the greens,” Scheffler said.
Even on vacation, Scheffler (second from right) couldn’t help but play a little golf.
Scheffler and his friends enjoyed the beautiful scenery at the driving range in Telluride.
‘I felt like I did a lot of my work on the greens this week, and maybe I needed to do more; the practice greens weren’t the same speed as the course, and it was hard to find something similar.’
Scheffler has never played in a tournament at Royal Troon and has struggled in past editions of the Open.
It is the only major championship in which Scheffler has not finished in the top three.
His best result at golf’s oldest tournament was in 2021, when the tournament was held at Royal St. George’s.
After the Open, there are two tournaments, the Barracuda Championship and the 3M Open, before the Olympics begin.
Scheffler was one of four golfers named to Team USA, joining Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa.
