“It took me so many years to gain confidence in my body. I’ve let it down at times and missed vacations and nights out because I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror.

She appeared on This Morning, where she opened up about her recent revelation that she felt “lost and lonely” after moving to the capital following her I’m A Celebrity win in 2016.

Scarlett told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford that there was a huge stigma surrounding admitting loneliness and the sense of “failure” when she spoke of her own experience.

Discussing how she felt, Scarlett said: “I’ve finally found the courage to tell people I was lonely, I think there’s a huge stigma around admitting you’re lonely because you feel like you’ve failed.” or are you just ashamed.

‘You should never be ashamed of being lonely. I hope by telling people how lonely I was in London it opens up a conversation where people go “actually yes, I’m not having fun”.’

Scarlett, who has since become ambassador for the Samaritans, continued: “I was on my own. I didn’t dare tell my family and friends because I just won the jungle, I started presenting a lot, I felt guilty because I thought I had to be the best in the world.

“I should really be having a good time, but the truth is I would literally walk my dog ​​in Camden as it’s quite a touristy area, hoping people would come up and talk to us!”
