Savvy shopper reveals little-known loyalty rewards trick he used to get five free international flights

A savvy shopper won big after his massive number of rewards card points landed him in five overseas destinations without paying a dime.
Dale learned the little trick a couple of years ago when he discovered that he could earn points on his Flybuys card by taking surveys through the popular rewards program.
He converted the points accumulated through Flybuys into Velocity Frequent Flyer points which he used to finance his trips around the world.
He fills out surveys while traveling to and from work and hasn’t had to pay a dime for his recent foreign flights.
It only took a year to accumulate enough points for the flights.
“In January, I went to London, Edinburgh and Paris, Muscat in Oman and Abu Dhabi,” said the savvy shopper. a current affair.

The savvy shopper also topped up his points by shopping at Coles, earning him enough in just one year to travel internationally.

Velocity Frequent Flyer boss Nick Rohrlach said collecting points was a good way to get rewarded for making the purchases that need to be made.
“There are a lot of great ways to earn points, so with a little bit of effort and research, it will happen,” he said.

Daniel Sciberras, editor-in-chief of consumer website Point Hacks, said customers should use a variety of loyalty cards as long as they don’t pay to sign up.
“The best way is to sign up with a credit card because they offer the biggest advantage in terms of bonus points, you can earn up to 100,000 Velocity points at one time,” Mr. Sciberras said.
“If you’re more loyal to a particular program, you’ll be able to earn those points faster.”
