- On Saturday, she said she “felt great” walking in public in NYC
NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie was seen smiling and waving on Saturday and said she was “feeling good” – just four days after testing positive for Covid.
Guthrie, 51, was photographed in public in Manhattan appearing to be in good shape despite recently testing positive for Covid and suddenly disappearing from the set of the Today show.
Although Guthrie appeared on the air for the first 30 minutes of Tuesday’s show, viewers were confused when she suddenly disappeared after a commercial break.
Her co-host Sheinelle Jones, who sat next to her for the half hour she was on set, later said she “wasn’t feeling well,” so she took a test that came back positive.

Savannah Guthrie tested positive for Covid-19 – forcing her to unexpectedly leave the Today show on Tuesday morning
Savannah left early, she wasn’t feeling very well so she did a Covid test. It came back positive,” Jones told viewers.
“As soon as we found out, she hurried home to rest. So Savannah, we love you and wish you a speedy recovery.”
In May last year, Guthrie revealed she had tested positive for Covid for the second time.
The Today co-anchor, who has been vaccinated and boosted, shares a photo of her positive test on Instagram. She also posted pictures of herself wearing an N95 mask and her air purifier on the highest setting.
‘So this happened – again! Covid+, air filter on “turbo” and it will be an isolating Mother’s Day for this mama!!!’ she wrote. “I feel fine, just a little cold so far. Grateful to be vaccinated!’
Guthrie first tested positive in January 2022 during the Omicron surge, less than a week after co-host Hoda Kotb said she had the virus.
Her disappearance last week came amid Kotb’s more recent week-long absence from the morning show.
On Wednesday, NBC’s Craig Melvin told viewers, “A lot of you have been wondering how (Hoda) is doing. We can tell you that Hoda is fine, she has a family problem she has to deal with.’
Craig, who was joined in the studio by Jones and Al Roker, did not share any other information about the “family health issue,” nor did the Today hosts reveal which members of Hoda’s family are affected.
Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly used Guthrie’s caution around Covid and her mysterious departure as an opportunity to mock her on her own show.
“It’s all such a perfect indication of how the left, and especially the New York left, continues to live,” she said during her SiriusXM Podcast.
“I mean, at this point, seriously? Anyone else testing for covid?”

Guthrie tested positive for Covid for a reported third time on Tuesday. Her cohost told viewers she was ‘not feeling well’

Her co-host Sheinelle Jones – who was close to Guthrie – later explained that she was ‘not feeling well’ so she decided to take a Covid-19 test, which came back positive
“This is reportedly Savannah’s third bout of Covid, and I guarantee she’s had all the vaccines and boosters because you can’t get into 30 Rock without them,” Kelly said.
“It’s amazing to me. These guys are leftists and it’s amazing to see leftists still alive in the grip of Covid,” she added.
When explaining what happened to Guthrie, Kelly noted that beloved weatherman Al Roker slowly walked off-camera in what appeared to be an attempt at social distancing.
“I have dollars for donuts that (Al) Roker is out there on set all day tomorrow with an N95,” she said.
