Quincy’s death was met with great grief from celebrities, including his daughter Rashida, an acclaimed comedic actress.
Rashida took to social media on Thursday to pay a heartfelt tribute to her father, music legend Quincy Jones, following his death at age 91.

She wrote: ‘My dad was nocturnal his entire adult life. He kept ‘jazz hours’ since high school and never looked back.
‘When I was little, I would wake up in the middle of the night to look for him. No doubt he would be somewhere in the house, composing (the old school way, with pen and sheet music)’.
The filmmaker recalled: “He would never send me to bed again.” He would smile and take me into his arms while he continued working… there was no safer place in the world for me. He was a giant. An icon. A culture changer. A genius.’
Continuing to remember her father, she added: “His music (and ALL of his work) was a channel for his love.” He WAS love.
‘He made everyone he met feel loved and seen. That is his legacy.”
