A Newcastle woman has confessed she mistook her million-dollar Lotto prize on Saturday for just $1,000.
The woman had one of five division one winning tickets in Saturday’s drawing, and each division one winning ticket pocketed $1,012,896.39.
“At first I thought it was just $1,000, but I didn’t notice the commas,” she said. “I had to call my sister because I couldn’t read it properly.”
“I’ve probably only slept for two hours. I keep feeling like I need to pinch myself.
“My priority is to pay off the house and go from there, no matter what the financial advisor tells me. I want to have a nest egg for the future.”
The winning numbers were 31, 30, 23, 29, 17 and 25, while the supplementary numbers were 6 and 14.
The woman’s winning ticket was purchased through The Lott app.
