A man who tried to break into a Florida storage unit immediately got a taste of instant karma when he comically fell through the roof of another unit while trying to flee.

Tyvarius Tygwyan Stroud Mattison, 34, was eventually arrested by police at SmartStop Self Storage in Homestead and charged with being a serial burglar.

He is believed to have burglarized the unit three times, stealing around $20,000 worth of trainers, and one of the owners said he had stolen tens of thousands worth of clothing and shoes.

“The way he walked out of my unit, he was actually coming back for more,” the victim said. “He was climbing in through the roof, using a wheelbarrow or cart as a ladder and unscrewing the screws on the top.”

Police were expecting Stroud Mattison to return to inspect the place again, and when they spotted him, it was fairly easy to catch him.

Stroud Mattison was immediately confronted by the owner of the unit who returned last Thursday.

He then attempted to escape through the roofs of the various storage units as if he were navigating a maze before finally falling through one, according to Local 10.

Stroud Mattison was caught on video with his legs dangling from the ceiling, caught dead in the act.

One witness could even be heard exclaiming: “What an idiot!”

Police said Stroud Mattison legally rented a unit on the premises and had used his password to gain entry.

Two other victims told police he had targeted their units during his robbery spree.

He was taken to a local jail on Friday ahead of his initial court appearance.

Stroud Mattison was officially charged with one count of second-degree grand larceny, two counts of third-degree grand larceny, three counts of burglary of an unoccupied structure and one count of resisting an officer without violence.

The sentencing judge in the Miami-Dade County case found probable cause and ordered him not to return to the storage facility.

She ruled that if he has legal possessions in SafeStorage, he is legally required to be accompanied by police.

Stroud Mattison was also denied a lower bail rate because of the value of what he had stolen.

He has a history of trying to illegally sell cannabis and hallucinogens, according to the county.
