Sarah Paulson has sadness, but she doesn’t seem all that sad about it.
The Golden Globe winner, 49, rocked a trendy blue look on Monday night while attending the 49th Chaplin Award Gala in New York City with her Appropriate co-star Ella Beatty.
She donned a sleeveless asymmetrical blue top that fell over one shoulder, paired with black palazzo pants.
Paulson finished the look with a pair of mismatched jeweled earrings, a matching bracelet, and pointy black heels.
The American Horror Story alum carried a black wicker bag as she walked the red carpet.

She wore her short hair slicked back, framing a contoured blush beauty look.
Paulson previously told her old friend Pedro Pascal that she’s staying away from Botox while they talked about aging gracefully for Interview magazine.
“I’m not shooting anything in my face at this particular moment, I imagine everyone knows I’m 49 years old,” he said.
Beatty, 24, donned a white dress made of structured chiffon bandages, which fell to her ankles in a fringed skirt.
The young actress, daughter of Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, made her Broadway debut last month opposite Paulson in Appropriate, a dark comic family drama.
In his first Broadway show in 13 years, Paulson told Pascal, 49, that he hopes the return will “age me quickly.”
“Sometimes I’m backstage doing this play, Appropriate, and I think, ‘Wow, I’m doing these facial expressions multiple times a day, all day long, for months. I’ve never had those lines between my eyebrows.’ She explained.
Paulson added: “Well, I hope that when I’m done with this play, they’ll be there permanently.”

At Monday’s event, the couple posed for a photo with Rosie Perez and Sharon Stone.
In January, Paulson celebrated her partner Holland Taylor’s 81st birthday with a sweet tribute video.
‘My phone did this. And I like. Happy birthday to my only love. You are, simply, my world. I love you,’ she wrote.
The couple began dating in 2015 and Taylor was there to support Paulson when Appropriate debuted in December.
Appropriate runs at the Belasco Theater until June 23.
