Sarah Michelle Gellar celebrated her longtime boyfriend Shannen Doherty’s 52nd birthday on Wednesday by posting a series of their craziest memories together on Instagram.
While looking back at some fun times over their friendship, which spans more than three decades, the actress, 45, posted photos of them walking around in inflatable suits and lying next to each other on a mechanical bull pool float.
Other snaps showed Doherty holding the base of a half-filled champagne glass between her teeth as she tilted her head back to pour the drink into Gellar’s mouth.
“It’s your birthday @theshando so in your honor here’s a slideshow of some of the more ridiculous stunts (swipe right) Any suggestions for new ones?” the Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress captioned the slideshow.
Under the post, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star cheekily replied, “@sarahmgellar we sure are drinking a lot in these pictures!! I love you, s!!’

Doherty’s Charmed costar also praised the performer on Another Year Around the Sun via Instagram.
In 2020, Doherty, who still works, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer.
A year after revealing her health struggles, she told fans she’s “fighting to stay alive,” refusing to miss out on friends, family, and work in the process.
“I never want to operate [like I’m dying]she told ET at the time. “I just want to operate because I don’t have things to check off because I keep fighting to stay alive.”
Shannen – who is best known for her roles in Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed – spends “a lot of time with friends and family” and continue her work as an actress.
“Many people who are diagnosed with stage IV are more or less written off. It is assumed that they cannot operate or cannot operate at full capacity, and that is not true,” explains Doherty.
She added that surprisingly, she finds acting “more fulfilling.”
“That’s something I’d really like people to stop assuming and give us a chance to prove them wrong,” Shannen said.

Fighting hard: In 2020, Doherty, who still works, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer
Doherty and Gellar have impressively maintained their close friendship ever since they met in the 1990s while taping their respective shows on The WB, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed.
During an interview with PeopleGellar gushed that they still “talk every day” and she has learned “so much” more recipes from Doherty than her own husband Freddie Prinze Jr.
“It’s funny, my husband always says you always learn better from your friends than from your partner,” the Foodstirs co-founder told the magazine.
He continued: “He’s a great chef but I never learned anything from him because I get so nervous and frustrated and he gets frustrated with me. I’ve learned so many recipes from Shannen during quarantine because she’s much more patient with me in the kitchen.”
Both Sarah and her husband have published cookbooks – Stirring Up Fun with Food in 2017 and Back to the Kitchen in 2016.
