‘So of course, the moment we moved in, we all bought a bunch of cakes and cookies, and I didn’t want that for them.

‘In our house we have cookies, we have cake, we have everything, and as a result you have a better relationship.

‘And my daughters will have the figure they have and, hopefully, they will be healthy. And they are athletes, they enjoy food and have different palates.

“I hope they can maintain their affection for the experience and their delight in the flavor.”

The American actress is currently in London as she and her husband Matthew, 62, appear together in the West End play Plaza Suite.

Sarah revealed that she and Matthew, who married in 1997, cook every day and eat together as a family every night.

He added: ‘Matthew cooks, we both cook every day. We have dinner as a family every night. And always have dinner every Sunday night. It’s just what we do.’

Speaking about when she travels abroad, Sarah said she doesn’t want to eat fancy food suggested by hotel staff.

She said: ‘If you’re on holiday, trying to find restaurants, I research for endless months.

‘And you get to your destination, you try to ask people and they send you to the place where everyone else in the hotel goes.

‘And I will say “no, no, where do you eat, Mr. Janitor? Where do you eat?” And they don’t tell me because they think we want this stacked, fancy food.

‘And then I’ll just continue to the employee’s house. I literally follow them home. And I see where they live and their communities and their restaurants. And that’s where I go and shop.’

The third series of the revived Sex and the City show, And Just Like That, was confirmed in the summer of last year and is expected to premiere in 2025.

He told British chef Ruth: ‘I would simply describe them as thin, bone-in pork chops. It’s not fancy, not from your most special butcher but from Gristedes. Simple, put them in the pan with olive oil and season with salt and pepper and heaven.

‘I make them at least twice a week. Like a big meal after a play. Here are these eggs that I am in love with, that I am made of, that I want to put in my suitcase but I know that they won’t allow me.

‘They’re called Burford eggs, they have an orange yolk and, my goodness. We went through a lot of those.”
