Actor Matt Prokop has been arrested in Texas after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
Nearly a decade after his ex Sarah Hyland was granted a restraining order against him, TMZ reported that Prokop, 33, was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
According to the Victoria Police Department, the couple was out Saturday when Prokop’s girlfriend allegedly told someone he assaulted her.
Although officers were called to the scene, the two were gone when they arrived.
Officers responded to a disturbance in another area about an hour later, where they found Prokop and his girlfriend.

The arrest comes nearly a decade after his ex Sarah Hyland obtained a restraining order against Prokop.
The woman suffered enough injuries to warrant an arrest, as the investigation found that Prokop allegedly pushed her and hit her head against something.
Prokop reportedly attempted to get away from the officers and run while he was being arrested.
The Disney Channel alum dated Hyland, 33, from 2008 to 2014, after meeting at an audition for High School Musical 3: Senior Year, in which he played Jimmie.
He later appeared in a 2012 episode of Modern Family with Hyland, as well as in the films Geek Charming (2011), Struck by Lightning (2012), and April Apocalypse (2013).
Prokop was also credited as a producer on her 2015 film See You in Valhalla.
Hyland claimed that Prokop was verbally and physically abusive for four years of their relationship, until her Modern Family on-screen mother, Julie Bowen, intervened and helped her end things.
In the restraining order, Hyland recounted an incident in which Prokop allegedly pinned her against a car and strangled her.
“His grip was so tight that I couldn’t breathe or speak,” Hyland said in court documents. “He was scared and feared for my life.”
After Prokop entered rehab in August 2014, someone at the facility called Hyland to warn him about his mental state upon his release and recommended he get a restraining order.

Hyland claimed that Prokop was verbally and physically abusive throughout the four years of their relationship, until her Modern Family on-screen mother, Julie Bowen, intervened and helped her end things.
“His grip was so tight that I couldn’t breathe or speak,” Hyland said in court documents. “I was scared and feared for my life”
Hyland was granted a temporary restraining order in September, which became permanent a month later and required him to stay at least 300 feet away from her and her dog.
The Wedding Year actress shared some wisdom by breaking her silence about the restraining order shortly after.
“People have to go through things to become the person they are today, and that’s it,” Hyland said on the Meredith Vieira Show.
In August 2022, Hyland married Bachelor Nation alum Wells Adams.
