Sarah Ferguson shared a powerful message about mental health when she visited the beach in Donegal, Ireland yesterday.
The Duchess of York, 65, has battled cancer twice in the past year: she was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2023 and malignant melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer, in January.
Sarah, who recently became the first royal to join TikTok, said “sometimes things get overwhelming.”
In the short video, she spoke candidly to her followers while taking a walk on the beach.
She said: ‘Hello everyone! I’m here in Donegal and sometimes when I find things getting overwhelming I just try to get out into the most beautiful, wonderful blast of fresh air.

The duchess, who currently resides at the Royal Lodge in Windsor Park, made her debut on the social media app under the username sarahtheduchess.
Sarah, who is often affectionately known as Fergie, donned a casual ensemble for the clip, consisting of a denim jacket and aqua blue jumpsuit.

‘Only now am I really proud of my scars, they are really important.
‘I never thought you could free the chains of your heart from cancer, learning what it’s like to be able to properly talk about what it feels like to ask for help, surrender, and realize that everything is going to be okay. And you can find joy and not worry so much.’
She captioned the photo: “A cancer diagnosis was bad enough, but going through all those emotions twice was a lot to handle.” “Anyone going through this now should know they are not alone.”
