Sarah Ferguson has revealed she turned down I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! ‘hundreds of times’ but is desperate to land a role in Bridgerton.

The Duchess of York, 64, made the comments during a recent interview with Platinum Magazine, where she also posed up a storm for the cover.

The mother-of-two revealed that she has been in talks with her agent about casting her in the Netflix romantic drama, however, I’m a Celeb is definitely not for her.

“I asked my agent to put me in Bridgerton! The set designs are incredible! I could be a long-lost friend to Penelope. I have to be in Bridgerton!” she told Platinum magazine, which is out sale today.

“I’ve been asked to be on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here hundreds of times, and the answer is always no. I’m sure it’s great for a lot of people, but not for me!

If the duchess changed her mind, she would be the second royal to enter the celebrity jungle, after Princess Anne’s son-in-law Mike Tindall competed in the 2022 series.

Elsewhere, Sarah insisted she couldn’t have wished for more love or care from her family after being diagnosed with skin cancer this year after battling breast cancer last summer.

She said: ‘The whole York family have pulled together and I couldn’t have gotten through this without them.

“My daughters, in particular, have been very supportive. We always call each other ‘the tripod,’ because we’re there for each other through thick and thin, and they’ve certainly shown that over the past few months.”

Speaking about her current health, she revealed that she is being overly cautious about any skin differences she is noticing.

She said: ‘I look at every little bit of skin and think, ‘Oh! Is that melanoma? Is that something? ‘ Then you make an appointment to see the dermatologist and by the time you get there, it’s gone.

‘My father and my best friend Carolyn (Cotterill) died of melanoma. When I got the call on December 31 at 4pm from the dermatologist saying they needed me at the Royal Marsden on Tuesday morning at 8am, it was a long weekend but I was very lucky as it hadn’t spread to the lymph nodes’.

Elsewhere, Sarah spoke about her childhood and revealed she had a feeling of not “belonging” because of her red hair.

Sarah revealed she is “so proud” of “brave” King Charles and Kate Middleton for speaking openly about their cancer diagnosis on Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis earlier this month.

She said: ‘I said to my daughters today: ‘Is it necessary to have cancer to stop self-hatred, self-doubt and mental anguish?’

“I was born in 1959 wearing a swimming cap with red curls. And at that time there was no sun cream, hence today’s melanoma.

‘I sat in the baby stroller and mom was dark, she looked very Spanish. I remember everyone saying, “Where is she from? Look at her red hair and her blue eyes,” and Mom would say, “The mailman.” Well, imagine what I must have thought: “Oh, I don’t belong here.”

This comes after Sarah revealed she is “so proud” of the “brave” King Charles and Kate Middleton for speaking openly about their own cancer diagnosis.

He said “everyone needs to come together” as he appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis earlier this month.

She said: “I’m so proud of the King for becoming the royal patron of Cancer Research UK, for coming out and talking to all these people, it gives everyone that wonderful feeling that they’re being listened to, I thought it was very brave of him to do that.

“The lovely Princess Catherine who made the video was so brave, family unity is an extraordinary thing and I am honestly so proud and sending them so much love and support, we all need to pull together.”

Separately, Sarah, who lives at Royal Lodge with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, revealed she does not “get involved in sibling arguments”, amid reports that King Charles had “threatened to cut all ties” with Andrew unless he leaves Royal Lodge for his new home at Frogmore Cottage.

The mother-of-two said: “It’s not a disappointment for Debby, it’s just life on the fast lane.” I’m a guest to begin with. I am a very lucky guest and a very comfortable guest, thank you very much. But I don’t usually get involved in arguments between siblings and I think the best and safest place to be is to let the siblings discuss it among themselves.’

Disgraced Prince Andrew, who no longer has official royal duties after being forced to resign over the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, has reportedly been ordered to move out of the 30-bedroom, £30million mansion he shares with Fergie.

Meanwhile, Sarah, affectionately known as Fergie, revealed her new book A Woman of Intrigue is “cheeky and sexy” by comparing it to Bridgerton, in which she says she would love to have a cameo.

When asked about her new novel, Sarah said: “Lady Mary really likes underwear, naughty, sexy, daring, silky underwear. “The great thing about it is that it’s like Bridgerton.

“I want to be in Bridgerton. I think Lady Penelope should have a redhead friend like me. I’m going to say it.”

When Susanna asked him about his own cancer diagnosis, he said he had found his “new normal.”

She said: “All these years I’ve been thinking, ‘Am I good enough? Am I this, am I that? Am I doing my finances right? Am I doing this?’ And suddenly, now with a mastectomy and then with melanoma evil, every day, it is not a wake-up call, it is now a new normal.

‘You can never say you’re cancer-free, but you can say I’m fine, Susanna, and I’m very lucky, but I’m really determined.

“The truth is that mammograms are not being done. People are not going to get mammograms, they are not being tested. They have to get tested, they can get tested, and there is no need to be afraid.”

Susanna then revealed how she had had a mammogram after hearing the Duchess of York’s message: ‘I had been avoiding it because I was worried and it wasn’t the painful experience I had in my head, so thank you. ‘(It was) all clear, thank God.’
