WWE star Sonya Deville married her partner Toni Cassano in an intimate ceremony in New Jersey.

While it is not known exactly when the couple began dating, pictures together first appeared on social media in May 2022 and have since shown much of their relationship.

The wedding took place on February 10 at Legacy Castle, with 140 guests in attendance to watch the couple tie the knot in a ceremony officiated by television host and WWE ambassador Maria Menounos.

‘That was an element that was really special to me. Deville, whose real name is Daria Berenato, told People. ‘Maria and her husband Keven (Undergaro) have been a big part of my life.

‘They are the reason I am in WWE, they introduced me to that whole world. They were my mentors when I was 20 years old working as a bartender in Los Angeles, so they’ve been with me throughout the journey.’

WWE stars Liv Morgan, Charlotte Flair, Andrade, Bayley, Montez Ford and Chelsea Green were in attendance, with former women’s champion Bianca Belair as flower girl.

Also present was former WWE wrestler Mandy Rose, as well as NXT commentator Vic Joseph and his partner McKenzie Mitchell, who also previously worked for the company.

“I think we have two and a half or three tables of just WWE people,” Deville, whose real name is Daria Berenato, had said before the wedding. ‘Our neighbors and old family friends come, so it’s like this big fighter next to my little neighbor. There will be some fun couples there.

Guests were asked to wear all black, with the two brides dressed in white alongside their daughters, Giovanna and Valentina.

Giovanna, the eldest of the two daughters, played Cassano on the piano, while Valentina was in charge of the rings.

Deville was the first WWE wrestler to come out as gay, and revealed that she was in a lesbian relationship while on the company’s reality show Tough Enough in 2015.

Although wrestlers had revealed they were gay before her, she admitted in a 2021 interview with Variety that she thought her sexuality would hurt her chances of being hired.

“That’s how naive I was,” she said. “I didn’t accept myself, so I didn’t think anyone else was going to accept me.”
