Saoirse Ronan has revealed she has a secret ambition to play a James Bond villain and would love her husband Jack Lowden to play 007.

If the 30-year-old Little Women stars’ wishes came true, the couple would be the first Mr. and Mrs. Bond, making them an even more iconic couple.

When talking about what her evil trait would be if she were to star in the spy series, Saoirse suggested that she would love for her character to have a limp.

she said the sun: ‘I’ve always said I want to play a Bond villain. I would really love to do that. I’m serious, I would. If anyone knows Barbara Broccoli, let them know.

“There’s something nice about just saying, ‘I’m going to make a great movie next. And I know people will see it.'”

She added: “I’m conscious of being blonde because I feel like a lot of villains in movies are always super blonde and evil looking.” I’d like to break the trend, but honestly, it’s whatever Barbara wants!’

Saoirse also admitted that if it were between her playing the villain in James Bond or her husband playing 007, she would be happy to leave the role.

Speaking on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast: “It should be Bond, if you have to choose between the two.” Isn’t it good to have done that?’

Although Bond girls are well known in spy films, female villain protagonists are much rarer.

In 1999’s The World Is Not Enough, Sophie Marceau played Bond’s first female lead villain, Elektra King.

Other villains have included Grace Jones as assassin-turned-ally May Day in 1985’s A View To A Kill, and Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp, who murdered her victims between her muscular thighs, in 1995’s GoldenEye.

Saoirse comes co-presenting a BBC Radio 2 show with Scottish DJ Edith Bowman and spoke about her husband Jack’s hopes of becoming 007.

Edith said Jack would be a great choice for the iconic role, adding that she had been arguing the same thing for years.

In response, Saoirse said: “I’m going to start counting how many times you play him as Bond on the radio.”

When Edith replied that she had been doing it for six years, Saoirse replied: “It hasn’t happened yet though,” before adding: “there’s time, there’s time.”

Saoirse also spoke about how she and Jack, who helped her produce new Orkney-based film The Outrun, believe it’s important to work with people they feel comfortable with.

Star Mary Queen of Scots said: “When you feel safe in the company you’re in but there’s also pressure on you, it’s the best environment.”

“The older we get, and certainly for me and Jack, the more we do this, the more important it is for us – and essential really – to work exclusively with people who are on the same page as us and who are just kind and good at what they do.

“It doesn’t mean you have to be the best, but you just have to have a passion for it and take care of each other because there are a lot of people who aren’t like that.”

Three years after the release of No Time To Die, fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement of who will replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson remains the bookmakers’ favorite at 6-4, while Henry Cavill’s odds have been cut from 7-2, while Lowden sits at 12-1.

Jack, 34, grew up in the Berwickshire village of Oxton and has built a career with films such as Dunkirk and Benediction and TV shows such as Slow Horses and The Gold.

He and Saoirse met in 2018 when they co-starred in Mary Queen Of Scots and married on the weekend of July 20 this year.

She played the title role, while Jack played Lord Darnley, the monarch’s husband. They started dating in December 2018.

They married in a secret ceremony in Edinburgh’s Old Town in July. The four-time Oscar-nominated star and the Scottish actor celebrated the wedding in an intimate setting just off the Royal Mile.

The private affair included a handful of the couple’s friends, who kept the nuptials a secret, along with their family. Their marriage certificate records that Jack Andrew Lowden, 34, married Saoirse Una Ronan, 30, at the City Chambers registry office on July 17.

American-born and Irish-raised Saoirse and Jack share a £2.5million home in London with their dog, Fran.
