Get ready for the thrill of Formula 1 in Brazil – live on Sky Sports F1 – as the Sprint weekend format returns for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. If last year has anything to offer, we’re in for an epic event.
In the third and final Sprint of the season, there will be another change in the weekend format with qualifying on Friday, the mini-gridsetting race on Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday.
The most important times are:
- Qualification starts Friday at 7 p.m., build-up from 6 p.m
- The Sprint starts on Saturday at 19.30 pm, construction from 18.30 pm
- The Grand Prix starts on Sunday at 6 pm, construction from 4.30 pm
Max Verstappen and Red Bull made history with a record 14th win last time in Mexico City, with the Dutchman demonstrating metronomic consistency, while Mercedes’ compromised strategy put Lewis Hamilton in second.
Home hero Sergio Perez completed the podium to the delight of the fans when McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo, whose future is undecided, collided with Yuki Tsunoda before slashing through the field to take P7 and driver of the day.
This weekend Mercedes is hoping for a repeat of last year’s Hamilton masterclass as she and Hamilton try to take their first race win of the season – perhaps the forecasted rain will give them the chance they need.
